In-Betweeners

9 January – 23 February 2024

Gallery/Miz is hosting Doğukan Çiğdem’s solo exhibition titled “Living in Between” between January 9, 2024 – February 23, 2024. In the exhibition, in which we discuss the concepts of “the urge to create” and “progress” together with Emre Zeytinoğlu’s essay and Doğukan Çiğdem’s artworks, we question the constant change between human-nature-sociality and the states of their symbols in the face of this change.

In his previous exhibitions, he has sometimes dealt with how the symbols of myths or belief systems are disguised in the modern era, and what “psychological ruptures” that change causes in people, and sometimes how the cultural codes that determine archaic living conditions have undergone a shift, Doğukan Çiğdem, who reveals his own imaginative analyses, in his solo exhibition titled “Those Who Live in Between”, strips the symbols of the ongoing changes between human, nature and sociality from their usual sign relations and puts them into different relations and once again presents us with new compositions.

Doğukan Çiğdem presents a new perspective on acts of praxis with his exhibition “In-Betweeners”. It invites the audience to explore the fundamental dynamics of human existence, to question the fine lines of creation and deconstruction. We embark on a journey at the intersection of consciousness and existence. You can visit this special exhibition at Galeri/Miz between January 9, 2024 and February 23, 2024, which leads to a reflection on the balance between creation and destruction, questioning the fundamental questions of human existence, in short, navigating the fine line between creation and non-existence.
