He was born in Eskişehir in 1986. He graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting in 2014. He continues his work in his studio in Eskişehir.

The minimalism that emerges from the use of a limited number of figures, the details of these figures, the space they occupy on the canvas, and the background of the painting, as well as the simplicity reflected by this minimalism, allows the viewer to attribute symbolic meanings to these figures. The figures, often brought to the foreground of the canvas, appear as if they want to tell us something. In this respect, if the foggy sky covering the background, the setting sun, barren trees, timeless spaces, and the foreground are likened to the distinction between consciousness and the subconscious/unconscious, it can be said that Kalkızoğlu actually presents the viewer with a limited number of symbolic figures brought to the plane of consciousness and asks the viewer to especially engage with these figures.
