Mert Özgen at Galeri/Miz with his third solo exhibition titled ‘No.5’! Young artist Mert Özgen meets art lovers at Galeri/Miz between December 4 and January 2 with his third solo exhibition titled ‘No.5’, consisting of oil paintings and drawings inspired by the stories of different women. A little bit of fashion, a little bit of opera in whiteness… Mert Özgen invites the audience to his stage with the portraits he constructs by combining the stories of femininity inspired by Puccini’s, Donizetti’s and Verdi’s operas, Carmen, Norma with the most influential fashion icon of the age. Painting the contrasts of beauty and restlessness, stillness and intensity with her unique language, Özgen aims to tell the strength, fragility, serenity and transcendence of women by addressing the female figures who are “objectified” on stage and in front of the camera with their stories and emotions. Starting on December 4, Mert Özgen’s solo exhibition titled “No.5” can be seen at Galeri/Miz until January 2.
