All of them revived in a texture on the surface; I felt this and did this, on the bark of a tree, in a deep blue, in the infinite sky, in the middle of the desert and in the touch of a skin\u2026 that skin that hosts all of our hopes and suffering\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p><cite>A\u015eKIN AKMAN<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A\u015fk\u0131n Akman\u2019s figures that try to get out of their shells reflect man\u2019s will for struggle. Sometimes with a thick layer of paint and sometimes with thin paints on a controlled sandpaper layer by layer, Akman uses different techniques together. In a sense, this is the case of today\u2019s human being who has to go from the reasoning of \u201ceither this or that\u201d to \u201cboth this and that\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Each work by the artist is the emergence of the \u2018desire to paint\u2019. The figure never separates from that desire, and in order to provide the connection between art and life, it makes a breakthrough operation in every attempt. One feels the trace of this struggle and its untamable energy on the artist\u2019s canvas, and we are shown that although today\u2019s canvas is full of \u2018ways of seeing\u2019 there are still things to do with hope in the name of art.<\/p>\n<p>As Yal\u00e7\u0131n SADAK quotes Agamben* in his exhibition essay, &#8220;&#8230; without getting caught in the vicious circle of the market, <em>*those who can see the signs of the archaic in the contemporary; those who experience the contemporary in a way that makes the present seem archaic may have a chance to survive. <\/em>A\u015fk\u0131n Akman is a traveler on this path and he has obvious virtues that require us to vouch for his journey&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1485,"template":"","sanatci":[128],"yillar":[164],"class_list":["post-1835","sergi","type-sergi","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","sanatci-askin-akman-en","yillar-2018-en"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/galerimiz.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/sergi\/1835","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/galerimiz.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/sergi"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/galerimiz.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/sergi"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/galerimiz.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1485"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/galerimiz.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1835"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"sanatci","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/galerimiz.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/sanatci?post=1835"},{"taxonomy":"yillar","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/galerimiz.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/yillar?post=1835"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
