Pilevneli’s artwork addresses themes such as relationships, belonging, fragmentation, reconstruction, healing, life cycles, and the nature-human relationship. She approaches global events and personal psychological complexities, dilemmas, and intense emotions like love with a gentle and pure perspective. She aims to present the chaos we experience as opportunities for re-establishing order. Her works emphasize a sense of purification, tranquility, and peace. Drawing inspiration from nature, she often incorporates organic, amorphous, and fluid forms in cyclical compositions. These cycles symbolize the inherent order in life, akin to cellular transformations, the blooming of buds, the water cycle, the migration of birds, and the orbits of planets.
Pilevneli’s background in illustration and graphic design is evident in her artworks, where the influence of graphic design is apparent. She frequently highlights paper, symbolizing purity, and employs the embossing technique. Over these embossed surfaces, she creates artworks using a combination of ink, acrylic, charcoal, and colored pencil.
